Icebreaking north of the Causeway and the Marsgracht sails..

The CCG ship Earl Grey was tasked on April the 15th  to break up the ice that has blocked the approaches to Canso Lock from the north.It made several paases much to the delight of motorists and local photographers. Alls that's needed now is a little south-easterly breeze to send the ice away now.

There has been a flurry of vessels coming into the area and anchoring out in Inhabitants bay for a CFIA inspection. On the 15th the bulk carrier Evgenia  was inspected and departed at 1000hours.Today the cargo vessel Marsgracht was  brought in to inhabitants bay Anchorage ,inspected then APA pilot Capt. Tony Pierce joined the ship at 1100 hrs. and departed shortly thereafter to get the ship safely out of the zone and on to its destination of

The pilot vessel  taking Pilot Pierce to the ship and back was the Strait Falcon.
